Trump increased US wholehearted support for Israel during his four years in office - whilst Biden has preferred a two state solution.
Many hope a more balanced US position will bring about a permanent peace between the Israels and Palestinians - and also for the Middle East.

Well I didn't say that at all did I? I was being rueful about the strangeness of a world in which a "peace envoy" also arms one side of a conflict they are supposed to be bringing peace to. Could equally apply to a war between Martians & Venusians.
