Wyot It disturbs me how the assumption of racism is made; almost wanted. It masks what may be the real issue and distorts the assumed one. This doesn't help combat either racism or Police brutality. It just leads to hysterical factionalism.

JK2006 But am I wrong to be worried that society and media have hijacked his killing in order to focus on racism instead of on police brutality? Surely it is absolutely certain that exactly the same would have happened had he been white? Police globally think they are entitled to behave in disgraceful ways, often illegal ones. Justifying their use of force (physical or mental) by pretending they are "keeping the peace". Many cops - men and women - join the force in order to get away with bullying, violence, cruelty. Please read my book Not A Knee On The Neck (how British police kill people). You will be shocked.
