JK2006 No: My fear WYOT is that the opposite will happen. The Boy Who Cried Wolf syndrome. When stupid gullible punters learn it was all an unnecessary media hype and media suss they've been rumbled, when the next, deadly virus arrives (like Ebola only as infectious as Covid) nobody will pay any attention and millions WILL die!

Just as I'm afraid this winter millions will die from Flu.
Wyot Great article JK. I hope that questions keep being asked long after the panic is over. The more people who realise that the past year has not primarily been about a virus but over reaction, the less likely this tragi-comedy will happen again.
JK2006 That is in a normal day, every year. Ignore trivial Covid. Or flu. Or sepsis or road accidents or cancer or heart attacks. That is Mother Nature.

Only stupid MEDIA, exaggerating, causing panic, takes a trivial virus and gullible punters believe it and so politicians (who ONLY obey media and voters) behave absurdly.
