I agree Steve I find it fascinating and am surprised the media aren't more over it. Senior military figures (and Obama) have confirmed these events have been happpening and using tech far more advanced than we currently have. So either an earthbound power is far ahead of us or it originates off-planet. I doubt we will get that sorted somehow but for whatever reason there is increasing openness on the subject...

Do you have any idea what your friend saw?

If not a meteor or shooting star - perhaps the International Space Station.

Only 200 miles away - and the brightest object in the night sky.

He said it was flying saucer shape and this was 1979.

How do we know what flying saucers look like if we haven't had a confirmed alien sighting?
It is pretty unlikely that aliens would base their crafts on something in a fifties B movie.

Unless they were double bluffing.

I have no idea but my friend does not and won't lie, he is too God fearing. He once walked me back to a 7-Eleven when the shopkeeper over changed me.

He he said the saucer shape object was flying silent but then the search lights came on which beamed a red and blue.

Gael Vella Yes, most UFOs were that shape then - the music, you see

Now they look more like demented leprechauns or born again wrestlers

Or maybe sycophantic former ghosts - with piles and dandruff
