Again very consistent and impressive gelf. I also thought Declan Rice was brilliant and worked tirelessly. Lots to look forward to next winter in the World Cup; even if the hype will be unbearably silly! |

For me, Jordan Pickford. No contest.
Pickford won the Golden Glove (most clean sheets) and Ronaldo the Golden Boot (most goals). |

Yes we were the more "sporting" side - wasn't hard! Shocking fouling by the Italians and I think their captain should have been sent off for it; especially as Saka had a pretty clear run on goal and was nearly garotted...
Pickford a top runner for me as well; pulled off some wonderful saves and waa very instrumental in getting us to the finsl. But I would plump for Sterling over Pickford (just). Not effective for long periods tonight but for the tournament as a whole his running, dribbles & goals got us where we got.
Shaw was also consistently very effective in every match.
We have a very talented (young) team, an intelligent, thoughtful and gracious manager who is improving us all the time.
I look forward to the World Cup.
England did us proud. |

And I have to say; a team with a member (indeed I think it was their Captain) who pulls a player down by his shirt, almost strangling him, and doesn't even get a yellow card should be disqualified. I gasped when I saw it.Yes. I couldn't believe it when he wasn't sent off.
Presumably Saka could have punched him in the face and that would be ok too? |
