In The Know
The police (ever determined to turn the UK into a police state) now want the right to detain (for ever) DNA samples from anyone dropping litter (and other minor offences).
I wonder if it ever occurs to them that they are eventually going to get rid of their own jobs? If everyone was on a DNA database - then every crime would be solved ie - no police required !
I remember many years ago every time I went into a bank the cashier was trying to talk me into using a cashpoint machine instead. I wondered then whether they realised they were talking themselves out of jobs? The result? Everyone now uses cashpoint machines - there are usually only a couple of "windows" open inside the banks, and around 40,000 bank jobs have gone over the last few years !
