JK2006 I know Colin Sutton was heavily involved in both TV series but I think that adds to the brilliance; no credit taken (though well deserved); very little criticism of other cops (except of Surrey Police in the first one - CARROTS!). Modest, quiet, polite.
JK2006 The reason Colin was such a superb cop was NOT that he was a superb cop; he was just a good cop doing what a good cop should. Bizarre they are so rare.
JK2006 This is so well done; sensitive, gentle, intelligent TV for people who dare to think. It must have done a world of good for the few decent police (even the average officer who tried to catch the rapist). If only Colin Sutton was more typical of the majority. But TV makers should learn from this too; violence and gore are minimal. And the show is no worse for that.
JK2006 Seems many agree with me on this terrific series about a terrific man - though finding, arresting and stopping Levi Bellfield within weeks when Surrey Police failed to do for years is more an indictment of an appalling force than anything.

md He comes across as a person who has enough self awareness and knowledge in order to stay true to himself when dealing with fear. Fear doesn’t seem to overpower and rule him as it does with some of his colleagues. It can’t be easy but the series shows his strength of character and determination in sticking to his guns when confronted with the fear-based actions and reactions of others.
