You do realise a recipe post would be well received:P
Not made bread sauce in years, and the thought of it just sent pangs of homesickness all through me..well the gastric regions anyway. |

...yes you read it right, this has nothing to do with music.
My grocer occasionally has a delivery of the 1 yard long vegetables called drumsticks from Asia, and yesterday we were lucky enough to pass by at the correct time of delivery.
Cut the drumsticks into 2 inch pieces (1 whole one per person, simmer with garlic, beluga lentils, chilli and turmeric for 30 mins.
Serve with paratha, fresh coriander and grated coconut.
NB.
This is one messy dish to eat, as the outside of the drumstick is not edible, and you have have to extract the centre of the vegetable out with your front teeth.
(new clean tablecoth please!)
Had duck this week as well, marinated in honey and ginger all day, baked for twenty mins then sliced before flash frying with spring onions.
Also, whilst on Grouse season etc,we found the first of the autumn chanterelles in the woods last night. |
