It is something else now, does something else now, and so powerful that the politicians bend entirely to its agenda. It would require a once in a generation leader to withstand the storm; and we don't have that at the moment.

Thatcher was apparently president of the Oxford University Conservative Association and Truss president of the Oxford University Liberal Democrats.
