JK2006 Thank you JC and welcome to the Forum. If you'd like to send me a private E-Mail, my address is KingOfHits@aol.com
JC I feel all sorts of emotions reading through this. It was just happenstance that i found this site and thread. I was explaining something to a work colleague, which reminded me of my StepFather so thought i'd show a video of him to my colleague, then i found this site....all about him. Mervyn was my step father. To answer at least one question at this time, someone mentioned he may still be alive. I can assure you, i was there at his funeral. He is certainly dead....
Jo Laura Austin, mitigating, ... added McFadden, who is a retired policeman, suffers from Charcot Marie tooth disease - a neurological disorder - which means he struggles to walk.

People with CMT may have:
- muscle weakness in their feet, ankles, legs and hands
- an awkward way of walking (gait)
- highly arched or very flat feet
- numbness in the feet, arms and hands

CMT is a progressive condition. This means the symptoms slowly get worse, making everyday tasks increasingly difficult.

If the abused ex girlfriend court case was 2007 and he took his life some time later (after 31 March 2011 if he wrote that FB page?), presumably his condition would have deteriorated, so I wonder how he managed to get himself to a remote tree, then up it (surely easier to take an overdose, esp. if he had a constant supply of strong medicines/drugs). Did it make the news, like these? Coroner's inquest? If he's dead, there must be a record. Could the FB page have stopped not because he died but because he could no longer type? If he's alive, maybe he's in some kind of care facility.
JK2006 Yes Jo many avenues have been taken; many followed up; Private Investigators have contacted several people. Why and how MWT was kicked off Surrey Police cannot yet be discovered. Many of his colleagues then are now high ranking cops (how do you think he got so much advance info on Operations Midland and Yewtree?). Suffice it to say he moved to a far superior position (cleaning chewing gum off pavements - provoking Anna Raccoon to nickname him Gumshoe).

These are recent developments concerning Mervyn McFadden.

He may even still be alive if my sources are incorrect, in which case I apologise to him and ask him to come forward with the damning evidence regarding the 2001 miscarriage of justice.

I'm pretty good on internet detection Jo; as are those working for me; but we just haven't cracked this yet. All you can do - appreciated.
Jo Fascinating post.

There's a Facebook page for a Mervyn McFadden in London which looks as if it might have been written by him in a bad state, or by someone else. It contains the following public info:

Timeline: only one entry visible, for 31 March 2011, saying "single and dead"
Overview: Lives in London, United Kingdom; married
Details about Mervyn: "Was married to woman loved her son he went now obsessed with her frien.Firgid unemotional and cold. Now finished"

There's also a FB page for a woman of the name of the one in the Gazette article and for the location named there. But nothing on her timeline since September 2019. Also a Twitter account for an LB in that location but nothing on it since June 2019.

Is it certain that MWT was kicked out of the police? In this interview, he frames it as a personal choice so that the job was no longer controlling him and he had control over his life.

It certainly is intriguing if a list was compiled in advance with those names on it.
