Legally, never. You didn't order them or pay for them - someone just brought the parcel to the wrong address.

To obtain legitimate ownership, it'd be necessary to contact the sender/shipper/delivery company - to arrange a solution.

Like that will be possible if there no information to go by. The police are too busy arresting people of Tweets, creating Tik Tok videos, or sitting in a car catching people doing minor driving offenses over property and goods. If you call the police for a burglary they will turn up eventually, take down a brief statement and tell you look on selling sites or car boots to buy back your property if you see it listed and call the insurance company.

Like they did with me over my generator, power tools and some Genesis box sets. Yes the shed was locked and bolted but nothing is 100%. I had massive argument with the insurance company also.

So will get my copy LP of Ted Nugent Survival Of The Fittest that went missing in the post ? It's been about 3 years or so Barney.

I only opened it briefly ages ago to see if there was ID, but I think it was an early Dark Side of the moon, a Prince album, and an old Beatles, I cant remember which. And a dance track I cant remember either.

Keep them Honey, it can't be traced, you did your bit to find the rightful owner. I always try to find the right person if I get someone else's mail. Somethings either have no return label or address that's non existent.

Stuff I get from the previous homeowners I put back in the mail with "No longer at this address" scrawled across the envelope.

Whether you ordered an item or not, the basic scam here is to give you your money back! As the fault was all someone else's - and you shouldn't be inconvenienced.

But to provide this seemingly excellent service, the scammer will seek your credit card details to effect the refund. (The information he had is unfortunately securely stored on an⁶other system)!

Many are delighted w8ith a £50 refund for an item they never ordered - and to provide their crediyt card number and CVV code. On receipt of which, the scammer will be able to spend your money.

Usually, the card issuing financial institution will reimburse funds which have been scammed. Except where the card holder has been extremely negligent.

Say by divulging the card number and CVV code to an unknown party and/or by not immediately reporting unauthorised or unidentified charges to their card.

Even with all the safeguards in place, credit card fraud in enormous, throughout the globe. Amongst the billions of daily transactions by a highly useful tool.
