Oh !
JK2006
I thought the guy who made the point that a windfall tax would not work as most of the energy companies are NOT British, was excellent. That is exactly my point but I bet foreign companies would indeed be prepared to DONATE, interest free, those small (in comparison) amounts as a gesture to consumers. Massive great PR.

If I were Miss Pross... I'd have approached the 5 biggest energy companies and asked each of them if they would voluntarily and kindly DONATE 20 billion each to the British Government in order to keep prices down. Instead of a "windfall tax" on profits - very socialist - a charitable gesture. I reckon ALL 5 would be delighted to agree (great PR). Far less damaging to the tax payer. It would put a huge spoke in Labour's wheels. But I know nothing.

Love watching Midsomer, Doc Martin, Father Brown as they take us on a journey through Britains scenic areas.
Hopefully by the time I return England will still have these seemingly magical picturesque places.
Oh it will have Dav. Actually only 6%, of the Island is built on, we just have very dense urban pockets which are very overcrowded in places. There is still much beauty.
For how much longer ? In Wiltshire and Dorset more and more housing developments are popping up. Salisbury is losing it's greenbelt.

We have a large numbers in Scotland thanks mainly to the SNP
