However, if he is trying to teach the public cheap meals in this economic climate why does he get the hate for it?

Making homemade soup, casseroles, Shepard's pie, curry's, stuffed peppers, pasta bakes and offal dishes is not hard to do and are cheap if you make it bulk.

Cheap sausages are not great, however they are for toad in the hole and casserole. Leftovers all taste better.

Can't afford to buy fish to do some sea fishing, can't afford meat pick up road kill.
