This brief opinion piece in The Spectator gives the human side of Lady Hussey:
www.spectator.co.uk/article/in-defence-of-lady-susan-hussey/
What saddens me is the lack of loyalty in her family and, let's agree for arguments sake, that she said "the wrong thing", the lack of forgiveness?
She is apparently mortified and sorry - why is this never enough in public life anymore?
The Royals have to be condemned, though, I'm afraid. Their cowardly self serving sacrifice of this elderly lady is uncomfortable to watch (if The Queen were alive it may have been different I suspect - Charles is more the "politician"). Yes the media is ruthless, but they are powerful and have choice.
I am sad to say The Windsors are getting themselves in a dangerous muddle where modern life as well as their allegedly Christian beliefs (forgiveness, compassion?) are concerned. |

The original thread has so exploded, due to numerous posts and thousands of views, I thought I'd start a new one in defence of this poor lady attacked by the racist, media seeking hussey trying to get publicity for her charity. |
