Very unusual for Police to be patrolling anywhere and so potentially able to prevent crime rather than just respond to (some) of it. If they seek the respect of the people they (nominally) serve a free piece of advice from me is to start policing again.
But let's be positive at this time of year - so well done Dorset Police for patrolling the market!
I use to get this threat all the time as a kid like many kids did.
This reader comment made me laugh.
It's true though. The police won't take anyone away if they are naughty. However the parental threat of "if you don't behave, I'll have to call 101, sit on hold for an hour and get a crime number" doesn't really hold much weight,
My mum used to say a very weird, creepy and odd neighbour would take me away which made me scared.
The neighbour was actually locked away a few years after.
Just remember the police will come to your property for posting silly memes, misgendering an individual or you're a celebrity from yesteryear.
