I thought him (and told him so) a silly queen (that was long before he was "outed").

I ran into him a few times visiting his then manager's office..Was always pleasant and a tad shy.

On the day George was arrested I had a meeting with Donny Ienner - head of CBS at the time and having massive personal battles with George. He hadn't heard the news so I told him. His face fell. "How awful for George" he said, genuinely upset. Which made my opinion of Donny (who I already liked) leap up even more.
I was not a fan of George's personally (nor of much of his music - though some was great). The several times I met him we were OK but not close at all. We were never going to be friends. But he too was a victim of society's attitude to sexuality.
I shall be watching the shows with interest. Yes, it wasn't the False Allegations Industry (though it was certainly entrapment). But bigots, bent cops and media all played big parts. At least they were rumoured to be big.
