Yes checking closer I think the final day is Saturday.

Think it actually ends on Thursday, then Eid on Friday.
The dates gradually shift back each year, as the Islamic calendar is based on lunar months, I think. Starts 2nd September next year, 22nd August 2009 etc.
I wouldn't be too keen on the midsummer Ramadans. About 18 hours without food and drink wouldn't appeal to a hedonist like me at all.

My many Muslim friends have reached the end and climax of the month.
I love Ramadan in Muslim countries. I try to go along with the fast (good manners) but it's fascinating to see the atmosphere change as the month draws on.
From next year it will be very strange. Ramadan in mid summer only happens every few decades. It somehow doesn't seem a summer thing.
