I didn't take offence Honey but thanks for checking out. I know GM banter by now! (and can work out the time of day he posts things sometimes )
You are correct though about background as GM may be surprised to know on my father's side I am from Hampshire farming stock (generations back), while my mother's parents were in service (the downstairs staff in Downton Abbey!) in Wiltshire.
No silver spoon or family jewels here! And yes I collected frogs spawn and newts as a lad and need no assistance in identifying berries...
Was this before or after you were bowled out in cricket?
I can picture you Wyot, paddling in the River Bourne when it rained and collecting things in jars.
If Wyot becomes a wounded man by posts, then I will become both an apologist and a philatelist. |

I have funny feeling you will be out depth Wyot.
If Mrs Wyot asked you to pick berries for a pie, you'll come back with a basket full of Bittersweet because they look pretty.
Do you even own a compass that's not Google Maps?
My hiking sticks have compasses built in on the handles.

Greenman, why do you keep taunting Wyot for being uneducated in country life?
If for some reason he needed to pick berries, he could always find out the best way to do it by the magic of Google, or plain old trial and error.
Where someone lives now doesnt tell you much about their previous lifestyle and education anyway.
