I suspect that MWT may have been "played" by Bamber, which was what I suspected happened with Russell Causley, whom he also apparently corresponded with.
Killers are very good at playing with people...read the Last Victim by Jason Moss, he committed suicide apparently it drove him insane writing to killers.

Ironic that he says the case has always fascinated him, but doesn't seem to consider himself in the category of women who have a macabre fascination with Bamber.
