Putin's declared and sole aim was to protect the Donbas ethnic Russians from Ukraine's 8-years of Azov Nazi killers, ignored by gutless ethnic Russian Zelenskyy cowering in Kyiv since 2018.
Patient Putin finally achieved his aim by invading the whole country, and by 30 Sept 2022 unilaterally declaring his occupation and annexation of Donbas areas in the four oblasts – Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia. |

Both JK possible scenarios suit the Russian mentality.
ONE - some months ago at a secret, private meeting between the two P's, a plot is constructed to allow Putin to save face this way and to pull out of the war by making his two military bosses scapegoats.
TWO - deflect Ukrainian attention with media coverage of a "mutiny" and do a killer strike into Kyiv whilst Zelenskyyyyyy is looking the wrong way. Wagner and Chechen troops, pretending to be otherwise occupied, target behind the lines into the heart of Ukraine. |

And let's never forget disinformation. Might the Wagner group now suddenly break into Ukraine through an unexpected pathway to take Kyiv? Whilst Zelenskyyyyy is looking the wrong way (those who use the media tend to fall for the media). I would not be surprised by either event. |

Media report Putin declares the Wagner action "a mutiny" - rubbish. Putin never named the Wagner action; he simply talked about MUTINY. He talked of treachery but never mentioned Prigoshin.
So is my suggested possible ploy - that Putin now fires the two named military bosses accused by Prigoshin and promotes Prigoshin - then pulls out of Ukraine and ends "the war", blaming wrong information to him by the two fired (and killed) military chiefs.
Who knows? Prigoshin is now safe (with his army) in Belarus. Russia remains in Ukraine but Putin needs an excuse to pull out with dignity. Could JK (alone) be right? |
