JK2006 Watching this again, I loved it. Great acting from Rex, Hume, Roddy and Liz. Burton a bit over the top but that was the style of the era (very Olivier). Spectacular even today - way ahead of CGI. No film since has looked so spectacular. But I thought it was very successful artistically too and now, 60 years later, on BBC2 it looks the same.
