The immutable eternal truths in the old and new testaments, set by an all powerful omniscient God, are we are told no such thing by the very people who urge us to believe in such an entity. No, they can be reinterpreted and modernised by committee as every year they become more awkward.
"He" the all-loving didn't really advocate slavery in Exodus 21. No the earth did not literally get created in a week and God is not literally a "father". Chuckle.
Stop taking it all so literally; but do so a lot if it at the same time! The omniscient omnipotent just wasn't a great communicator and didn't mean what he/she said but did at the same time!
Clear? Good, now for today's lesson...
