I have no idea, obviously, about Letby's guilt beyond a jury being convinced. Now there is a crowd fund appeal set up by a scientist:

This case troubles me. |

We have a lynch mob mentality in this country, even as soon as the allegations are presented. If Lucy Letby did commit these murders, and a previous post casts doubt over this, then she would likely have some sort of mental illness. A life sentence is plenty to be going on with and forcing people to go to the sentencing achieves nothing, except create a media circus.
To me it shows more arrogance but serial killers only show remorse for themselves.
Like I said before nurses can either cure or kill you when you walk through hospital doors, it's roll of a dice. |

Her guilt has not been "proven" Michelle. Scientists prove things, jury's come to a decision on a balance of probabilities, after consideration of competing subjective narratives.
The word proven is used to make those involved feel better and appear objectively legitimate; as if they have discovered, through the bang of a gavel, a new chemical element.
When what they are doing is stamping a judgmental, subjective label on the mess that is human life. |

The only reason is the malicious satisfaction gained by those who - like Christians and lions - like watching pain, agony, misery. And nobody commentating has mentioned an appeal. Really; humanity is ceasing to be human.
