Americans who lie in cyclone prone areas tend to be the poor.

It will get worse throughout UK also.
They are going to build on farmland and greenbelts which a lot are flood plains. If you're new home flood all I can say is 'I tried to tell you'.
Heard the South East is slowly sinking, the UK is shrinking due to cliff erosion.

I sometimes wonder why people choose to live in areas which are regularly destroyed by hurricanes, typhoons, floods or earthquakes.
Yet those same people are often going on about climate change and how we must stop letting cows fart in order to save the planet.
The world (and the universe) will change.
Sometimes over billions of years; sometimes in days.
The crucial thing is how we as a species adapt. And, intelligently, allow other species to adapt too.
The answer is NOT hyping small problems into massive ones and coming up with tiny solutions that may give this world a few minutes more (or seconds) as we did with Covid but to combine trying to improve stupid situations (plastic waste; chopping down trees) whilst developing ways to exist in different climates and to make the most of our huge areas of valuable space (oceans; deserts; frozen wastes).
