I'm glad you picked up on this Cat.
The inevitable results will be that thousands of kids will lose their jobs. I doubt if the governments will pay them instead. They may die of starvation.
All because of do gooders who can't see the ramifications.
Or - correction - all because "it's a good story".
That's why I went to prison.

I watched the story about GAP using child labour and was prepared to be horrified, but the boy in the film was so obviously happy and trying not to laugh on camera that I failed in my effort to be repulsed.
Then I recalled that several firms use kids to advertise their fashions on TV. Could that also be classed as child labour?
In some cultures kids start work at an earlier age than ours. The boy in the film looked about 13/14. Both my parents were working at age 14. GAP could class it as an apprenticeship and, so long as the wage and treatment is fair, I really don't see the problem.
