Its allways amazed me the lack of cover attempts of the song, whereas the only similar big pop production I can think of , Barry Ryans "Eloise", is allways popping up as a cover and although excellent does not quite have the same appeal.

Sadly that's not Tony singing (or miming) in the clip.
He does appear on other clips - looking much older (aren't we all).
We sold millions in America and I think it still stands as a great track and wonderful song.

Was there some kind of message behind the songs? There was a lyric sheet with the album and the cover is very strange: an exploding radio, the noisy concorde in the sky above the beach, the terrifyed looking family ...
We did better with it in the US than the UK and strangely, though I sat on it for months so it would be released in the summer, it was biggest in New York in the winter, which intrigued me.
A huge classic smash which, you're right, wasn't as big as it should have been.

I know that JK had a hand in the band, First Class, who had a top forty hit with the classic "Beach Baby". I have liked this song my whole life. If I was in JK's shoes at the time I would have thought i'd have a sure fire #1 on my hands.
The song, of course, is remember today as a classic hit of it's time but did not top the charts. Yes, it was a long time ago now, but if anyone can shed some light onto the matter i would have though JK would be a good person to start with ... (any answer?)
