The investigation into Emma Caldwell's death seems to have been first class - it can be seen on iPlayer. It really does highlight two things. When we in media do it well, we are terrific (Bob Woffinden was a superb investigator/researcher) and shows like this are brilliant if done honourably. Sadly most of them (like the Michael Jackson show) are after death or conviction and don't want truth but viewers/ratings/profits. But more important is how shockingly bad police work is - especially the top cops, as you can see in the Caldwell case, with cops now coming out to say, again and again, they were stopped from proper investigation by superiors. Just like the Post Office/Fujitsu bosses did. |

If he IS guilty of course but yet again, like Mr Bates vs the Post Office, the system is broken (in this case Scot Cops). |
