Mart I can only speculate, but echo JK`s thoughts on this.
If getting clearance on a sample is proving difficult or unnesesary the done thing is to recreate a similar part.
Corduroy Well there's the confusion. Anyone got any idea? It certainly sounds like a sample but we need someone with inside knowledge I guess as to what has gone on here???

JK2006 Nope; if that's what it says - and if it IS a sample - you have your story.

I'm not convinced it's a sample. It sounds to me like it could be a lookalike. And you can't copyright a riff or an arrangement.
