How can anyone take him seriously, let alone seriously enough as a contender for president? How can the Republican party not be embarrassed? It's baffling that Nikki Haley, for example, isn't their candidate. She seems to be a conservative and sane.
Here in the UK - at least - the candidates for high office are much better. In terms of common sense, conservative backgrounds and boring headlines.
Biden can barely communicate without devices - and still gets his lines wrong. Trump - a convicted fellon/awaiting sentence - is an eccentric egotist.

It's obvious it will help him win over more support. You don't have to like or agree with Trump to be able to see what they are doing and what they have done is quite seriously wrong.
I expect the judge will go full batshit crazy and jail him on 11th July even if he doesn't immediately get cuffed and off to the jailhouse. They just won't be able to help themselves. Probation, I don't think so.
The really big problem is if Trump loses in November and then gets this conviction quashed on appeal afterwards.
