I remember the disaster being on the news then. I had no idea it killed so many people at the time.

There are anniversary memorials to many disasters in this country nowadays.
Why has Flixborough been forgotten, a disaster that killed 28 people and maimed dozens of others on this afternoon 50 years ago, Saturday 1st June 1974.
This was a chemical plant in Lincolnshire that blew up.
Why are some disasters like this deemed unfashionable and unworthy of remembering?
