Stella I remember the disaster being on the news then. I had no idea it killed so many people at the time.

Serious disasters don't seem to happen in the country like they once used to
Andy There are anniversary memorials to many disasters in this country nowadays.

Why has Flixborough been forgotten, a disaster that killed 28 people and maimed dozens of others on this afternoon 50 years ago, Saturday 1st June 1974.

This was a chemical plant in Lincolnshire that blew up.

Why are some disasters like this deemed unfashionable and unworthy of remembering?
