Green Man Are the British particularly the English so scared to show any form of patriotism?

When visitors visit villages across the UK, they just have a pleasant drive, smell the local manure and then pop into the local pub which is normally clique to have a pint/wine and a ploughman's lunch.

Someone will always complain about something and what happened to the friendly "Fuck off"?
