JK2006 Yes you're right - there are numerous factors but - example - does France (host country) getting so many fewer than the UK mean they also fail to provide vital assistance to the non-athletic disabled? And does China only provide to potential medal winners or do they look after the others better than, say, the USA? As The King used to say "it's a puzzlement".
robbiex One factor is the lottery money that is given to British paralympions which allows them to dedicate their whole life to their sport and not need to work, like most athletes from other countries, giving them a huge advantage. Why China win so many medals I don't know. Maybe they have a similar scheme, or are very good at the sports where there are a lot of medals on offer.
JK2006 I repeat - why has GB got so many more medals than the USA let alone everyone else except China? And why have China done so well? Do they care about their disabled better than anywhere else or are they simply more autocratic? But more important - why is this the only media outlet to comment on this?
