While knowing nothing about the guy this is not strictly true as prisoners were released early or not based on their last offence type.
Not on offences they may have been sentenced for prior to this. |

In essence, this revision is correct. There are so many innocent people in prison - many totally incapable of serious crime.
The costs are enormous, prisons are overcrowded and understaffed - with drugs the prime commodity.
Ongoing prisoner observation is the answer. "Which is just an idiot, misguided - or a dangerous thug?"
Sadly, it doesn't happen. No staff/screws training, incentives, will or money. Perhaps Timpson will help - like my shoes and watch. |

Thousands were released without any incident, freeing up space for some wrong-uns and falsely accused. I would say it was a big success. The guy wasn't a sex offender, because no sex-offenders were released, so how could they know that he would commit a sex offence. |

Yes because clearly this prisoner would have behaved impeccably if released at the 50% stage! |

One prisoner released has re-offended. We all know this is a regular occurrence. But media is using it as proof that early release doesn't work and is dangerous. This is proof, howls the tabloids, that cutting a 50% release date to 40% will cause anarchy, rape and murder. And the stupid public lap it up, accept it and agree. DOH! |
