Drug and alcohol abuse is indeed a great problem and from that flows marital abuse. The general public have good intentions towards Indigenous Aussies but many myths flow..such as the $millions spent "on them" but which really doesn't actually reach the many remote under-privileged communities but is consumed by salaries for public servants.

I don't want to go through the race route, but in the States the Black and Hispanic community are the minorities. but they make up over 50% to 55% of crime. Alaska is beautiful but most the crime is done by white folk, most is booze related and a shit load of wife beating. There is alot of unhinged morons in Anchorage but it is weather related, which cause mood swings and it is expensive there.
