Jo Nice tribute, robbiex. It's very sad. Also that his wife has MS. It must be very hard for the family to deal with.
hedda There are so many people (especially in the USA) who live to be 100.
A US morning talk show used to feature one every day and they never would say it was because of healthy living.

The healthiest people can get cancer. It's a bit like a lottery. My older brother died of cancer but he was 86.

My oldest brother is 88 and seems very healthy.
Downing Street Cat Agreed Robbie. Some suggest that it is something that you are either gonna get or you're not gonna get it. I was a heavy smoker for 20 years as one example. Stopped aged 45. Best friend never smoked in his life. Dies of lung cancer. Aged 49.I am now 60. I'm not suggesting an unhealthy lifestyle is the way to go, but cancer appears to tip the medical world on its head. One does wonder if an insides that is clean and healthy is the perfect breeding ground for the disease. But please note folks--- I don't know what I'm talking about.
Green Man Another one who pushed for the Covid jab.

Very sad news to hear that Sir Chris Hoy has terminal cancer. I hope that they find some new treatment or medication to alleviate his situation. Apart from being a superb sportsman, I've always found him to be a Lovely, decent, and modest man. He has a lot of charisma and is a good communicator. If someone with his level of fitness and healthy lifestyle can get terminal cancer before the age of fitness, it makes you wonder what is the point about trying to be fit, cutting down on alcohol, and eating more vegtables when it seems to be more down to luck and DNA, rather than lifestyle.
