TV show made many years ago with claims Sir James Goldsmith spirited Lucan away to a remote Swiss villa where he stayed for 6 months but became rather difficult to control and wanted to return to the UK and "prove his innocence"
Returning him to the UK across the Channel in a small boat it's said he was shot dead and dumped overboard.
Can't recall the sources but I think one was a former Goldsmith secretary.
Worked for a while with actor Cary Elwes whose father Dominick was allegedly Lucan's lover at school and part of his set.
He got frozen out after the Lucan case by the "Claremont Set" for supposedly bungling media interviews about Lucan and he committed suicide. Always tempted to bring up the Lucan case with Cary but never game to. |

There were a few coincidences with the Aussie guy, such as being the same age, growing up in Belgravia, and knowing the Royals. However the guy had larger ears. Neil was claiming that he got plastic surgery, but no one is going to get surgery to increase the size or their ears. It turned out he was a drag queen in the 60s, so it couldn't have been him. If they did find Lucan, we would know about it from the news, not a documentary series.
Good thinking, I could be wrong but wasn't the Queen Mother a fan of drag acts? |

I have downloaded the latest BBC series about finding Lord Lucan. It was more like a mockumentary. I felt sorry for Neil Berriman but he was clutching at straws and clinging on to false hope. It sounds like the Lucan guy was just trolling, Aussies are known for their odd sense of humour.
The guy in Oz looks nothing like Lucan the eyes, lips and nose do not match.
It reminded me of The Cricklewood Greats which was a mockumentary which was mocking films by Hammer and Amicus with Peter Capaldi.
Veronica Duncan was very odd and tight lipped when she was interviewed before she died. Maybe she did the
killing and Lord Lucan did a runner as a cover? |
