Why should we have to? Why can't he just act like a grown up? Why should the onus be on us to interpret him?

Ukraine is getting all the attention regards Trump but I'm even more intrigued about how he is going to deal with China regards Taiwan, especially if they did attack and invade suddenly, or if, perish the tought, Putin was mad enough to cross over into one or all of the Baltic states which are in NATO and the EU.
Putin wont invade another country. His Ukraine experiment has been disastrous thus far, troops depleted and demoralised. China will not invade Taiwan. USA have and will always be the aggressors and provocateurs where China are concerned. Much like everywhere else.
Jo The audience seemed to love it when he said that. It's worrying that he's nominating people who are relatively young and/or inexperienced in the fields he wants to appoint them to. Then there's Musk, who seems to be getting a role in international affairs. If Trump's surrounding himself with people like that, are they going to have the wisdom to give sound advice and craft sound policy on major international issues?

hedda Something that really should worry everyone in Europe after Trump has said those who haven't kept up payments (no idea really about this) ..that he would not only let Russia do what they want he'd actually encourage Russia to "take action".

Of course he says lots of things that may never eventuate and could have been just hot air.

One big factor: the US arms industry is probably more powerful than any industry in the USA and they actually supply the NATO countries with weapons. It's Big Business. What if he and they think war would be great for business?

Encouragingly Trump has just said he will work the hideous war criminal Netanyahu to end the Gaza genocide.

Hopefully it's not just talk.
