MCR Very sad news, that era was great for Snooker.

And he was also one of Chas N Dave's Matchroom Mob who had a Top 5 hit with Snooker Loopy in 1986
robbiex Yes, very sad news. I remember him winning the world title at the first attempt in 1979. A very gentle man, known for his bouffant hairstyle and welsh lilt. Why were the Welsh so good at snooker in the 70s and 80s (Reardon, Griffiths, Doug Mountjoy.
Rich News of the passing of the 1979 World Snooker Champion Terry Griffiths came through just as the UK Championship final had ended on Sunday night, a tournament he also won in 1982. Good timing.

I had no idea he was even ill. Complications from dementia and only 77. It comes just a few months after the other Welsh six times World champion Ray Reardon also left us in July this year.
