Linear TV is not dead but it's on life support.
My partner and I spent the day watching Mr Bean and Rising Damp with her parents while we indulged in some vile but expensive Primitivo wine. Being a guest at the house, I didn't have a say in what to watch. Personally, I would have enjoyed playing Battleships with some Kitty Wells albums playing in the background. |

I enjoyed it well enough. The characters are likeable and there are some good one-liners with a great cast. Sheridan Smith, Anna Maxwell-Martin, and Alison Steadman. However it had a few old rom-com ciche's like being with the wrong woman and dashing to the Port/Airport/rail station to find his girl before she leaves for good (he could have just phoned).
At 12.3 million viewers for this and 9 million for Wallace and Gromit, the reports that linear tv is dead are greatly exagerated. They will never reach the highs of the 70s and 80s, but still very significant. |

I'm afraid I've never watched - or "got" - G&S so I gave this 30 mins and could not understand a second of the "humour". People have changed. Humour is different (I laughed at Morecombe and Wise 1977 several times). I blame myself not the clearly much loved show. |
