Imagine the aftermath if they'd been successful? It may have destroyed the film business. Brooke Shields, Linda Hayden just two of those who were in sex scenes underage. Pretty Baby and Baby Love respectively.

I met both Brooke Sheilds and (tiny) Chris Atkins many years after The Blue Lagoon which had similar claims of sexual exploitation of minors but both seemed well balanced adults unaffected by apparent career hick ups.

I always thought it was rather sad that the 2 stars of Zeferelli's film never blossomed.

I did wonder whatever became of Chris Atkins.

JK2006 In the 1960s she and Leonard Whiting were the two teenage sensations selected by Zeferelli to star as Romeo and Juliet. Interestingly they both, years later, accused the Director of child abuse for making them portray lovers on film. A Judge threw out the spurious absurd claims. Would they have started the law suit if either had subsequently had successful acting careers? Who knows - but it threw a light on the changed morality and this century's main crime explosion - Using the Law to Break the Law.
