People used to take the mickey out of President Ronald Reagan, none more so than Spitting Image in the 80's but looking at him now he seems a seriously strong historical figure of stature and he managed to speak and articulate himself unbelievably well during his Presidency. He had the right touch about him in moments that mattered, none more so than when the Challenger space shuttle exploded this week back in 1986 and he gave a magnificent speech from the Oval Office that night. Maybe we need another actor as President.

Trump sort of manages it in his own unique manner, possibly puts on a bit of a public facing act, but I don't think it comes across as well but there was one moment in that election which I think was a game changer for a lot of people and it was when he was in that McDonalds and especially when he was serving at the drive through hatch. That moment should not be underestimated.

You know Challenger was a Pysops Rich.

I have to be careful what I say or JK will send the men with shades round.

Reagan was responsible, like Thatcher who did the same, for the decimation of so much sensible policy.

Reganomics like Thatherism has been the bane of modern politics and it's ghastly destruction continues unabated.

The difference was Ronald Reagan was just a vessel for the policies of others whereas Thatcher really believed in her destructive policies.

Reagan did have a high likeability factor and certainly was charming.

The actor James Garner was Reagan's deputy when he was president of the Actor's Union (which was very left wing).

Garner said Reagan was one of the dumbest men he ever met.
