Mart I am actually very greatful for my health this Xmas, as unknown to most, I have been in and out of hospital this week with an op.
I must say, I do recommend general anaestetic for the squeamish, never again!
JK2006 Get well soon Anthony - I thought I was going down about a week ago, then didn't!
Anthony Well, she did expect to acquire it of course, but I meant she was not destined for the role until her uncle's abdication.

I'm not thinking straight, having fallen prey to a rather nasty virus. The last time I was ill was this time last year. It's becoming a festive tradition. Just felt the need to share that with everyone, not being one to suffer in silence!
Anthony I'm no Royalist, not that I'm a Republican activist either, but I do have a lot of respect for the Queen, and all the unerring dedication she has given to a role she never expected to acquire.

Merry Christmas to you, JK, and to everyone else who has posted on here in the last year.
JK2006 I have nothing but huge respect for her common sense and decency - I think she's been a brilliant and positive influence on our world. Listen to her speech from 1957 on You Tube - she made such sense back then and still does today.

I was 13 then. I'm 63 now. Respected her then, continue to do so today.
