JK2006 Some brilliant bits (Quilp throughout especially his death) and some not so good (the depiction of the appalling old grandfather and of Nell herself - I seem to remember that her death provoked Diana type reaction in the populace at the time - it certainly has me in tears every time I read it).

All in all, a bit of a curate's egg.
