Jo Rupert Everett speaks very highly of him in his memoir "Red carpets and other banana skins". He says he was a very decent guy and had phoned round all his friends to say goodbye when he knew that his time was up.
Downing Street Cat Loved him. One of the most distinctive voices in the business. Even with his full ape make up you know it's him from his first words. Started out in the Lassie movies. Blimey I'm getting old. Lol.
