Yes Jo awful - as were scenes in the BBC2 show on last Monday night. War is awful. Those who behave in this way are simply murderers and do not deserve to be praised, whatever their excuse. There does not exist, however, footage of the moment when hostages were killed by (it is claimed) bombs. If it did I'm sure we would all find it equally awful. |

Perhaps the we will then find out what Israelis think of the present calamities.
Yes and I predict that given the Hamas horrors and rockets from Iran, they will support him in significantly greater numbers this time.
This is not at all to disagree about the scale and evil of Israel's actions; just a nod to human psychology, and what living surrounded by constant threat will do to it.
It is why Palestinians voted in Hamas. |

The footage shown today of the mother and her two small children, all now dead, looking terrified as they were taken away by Hamas was just awful. |

Sad and tragic but bad of Hamas to try to use them to blame Israel - although it seems likely they were indeed killed by Israel. You'd think by now both sides would be trying to complete the two essential goals - release of ALL the hostages, dead or alive, and the cessation of the war with Israel withdrawing from Gaza.
Then the peace has to be consolidated. Two state solution MUST be agreed by both. An elected Palestinian government has to be immediately established - if Hamas wishes to become a legitimate government they have to agree to the existence of Israel and the exclusion of acts of terror. Most of the guilty leaders seem to be dead so MOVE ON. The Israeli leaders who were responsible for the acts of terror against Gaza must be arrested and tried. And a new Israeli government elected who will confirm they will live in peace with both Palestinian territories.
The West Bank settlers can remain but they are citizens of Palestine and should live in peace with their neighbours.
Religious tolerance must be established by both sides in the area. |
