The UK government is just going to bail out Thames Water and give them 3 billion pounds of free money aren't they?
And after the rotten executives have given themselves huge bonuses over the years while dumping sewage into rivers, lakes and off beaches..
Meanwhile in Australia a still left leaning government has just bailed out a collapsing Steel works to the tune of $2.5B after incompetent management.
The big difference is the Oz government will retain that bailout in equity in the steel works, save paying unemployment benefits to 100s and join in the management of the works while booting the current management.
So simple and obvious yet all UK governments cave into these utility companies and allow their shoddy practices to continue.
I blame rotten Thatcher and her idiotic belief that somehow private business can do it better or cheaper which makes zilch sense especially when governments like the UK in the past are the ones who built these enormous requited utilities like, water,gas, electrify, trains and so on.
Starmer is like Thatcher on steroids.
Magic Grandpa meanwhile merely wanted to bring back policies like state ownership which served the UK nicely under both Tory and Labour governments for decades.
He's not even radical just old fashioned. |
