Al Gershwin In the last few centuries, two camelengos became Pope. So it's certainly possible!

Cardinal Farrell is under 80 (cut-off for selection and voting).

Experienced and travelled - academic and administrator; former Archbishop of Dallas.
JK2006 Exactly and on third viewing Conclave is even better than before - especially the twist at the end. But I wonder whhether life will imitate art? And whether the next Pope could be... IRISH.

JK2006 It always amused me that the Italian villain is called Tedesco (Italian for German I seem to believe) and another (Tucci who steals the movie) Bellini (a cocktail with peach and champagne).
JK2006 Yes I've done the obvious and watched the film that SHOULD have won Best Movie Oscar (far better than Anora though I actually thought A Real Pain was best and A Complete Unknown was my personal favourite). So good and Fiennes deserved Best Actor. Adrian Brody won for the (far too long) Brutalist which should have won Best Closing Credits Song (one of MY hits).

Weird - the Dean in charge of the current CONCLAVE is Irish.
