Trump's war on the movie business. Think he loathes it all as many stars and film folk loathe him. Robert de Niro called him a few choice names I think at the Oscars. Voight is one of the rare exceptions. Wonder how Voight and his daughter get along as she's very 'woke'.
Their relationship broke down decades Cat, before WOKE. Some parents just don't get on with their children. My youngest sister ( I have 4 sisters) didn't get on with my parents, and she never attended their funerals.
My mother treated us all equally, but being their only son, I did get extra treatment.
I still think my mother had a fling with my Dad's brother before I was born, but it can't be proven. Parents do have affairs and parents do argue over silly things, which I think affected my sister, not forgetting that postnatal depression wasn't known or spoken about. It was just hormones.
When females were not well, everything was down to the time of the month. True. My father was a bit of a weasel. Had two Mistresses according to my Mother' Lord knows what they saw him. The last time I saw him was on Paddington Station many years hence. Looked like a shaven ferret in a trilby. Not a nice man.
I don't think my father cheated, but if he did, he was nothing like my mother when it came to affairs, sadly. I only knew of 2 of the affairs, but even that is 2 too many. A brickie who was doing renovations to the property, and a fireman who was a regular in the pub, which my parents owned.
I still say there is a 95% chance my uncle was my Dad, as we had so much in common, a similar sense of humour and height, he took me under his wing and helped me immigrate to the States as a young lad to escape the Troubles. He found me a cash-in-hand job with one of his mates in New York.
I think it's one of the reasons my sister resented our parents, she was bit of a Daddy's girl, but he stopped giving in to her with money and being a taxi service. When my Dad knew about the affairs, he didn't know which child was his. It played on his mind every day, even on his deathbed, even when he was battling prostate cancer, he would keep asking and going about it almost every day. He just wanted the truth.
John Lennon: "Ninety percent of the people on this planet, especially in the West, were born out of a bottle of whiskey on a Saturday night, and there was no intent to have children." |

It doesn't matter that Jon Voight is a right wing loon and pal of Trump's.
What matters is a US president without a scintilla of consultation with one of the USA's most important mega $billionaire industries announces a (decimating) policy on the run while completely ignoring every single film expert or production company.
To somehow think this is smart politics defies reality.
It's absolute nonsense from a man who in every press conference now goes off at a tandem often with complete gibberish and it's getting worse.
People need to watch these excruciating pressers to easily see Trump is getting worse and exhibiting the classic signs of dementia where a patient can be completely logical for most of the time and then go off the rails for a short period. And it only gets worse.
# Trump's family set up an office in his house for his awful slum lord father Fred who had severe dementia in his later years so he would think he was actually still working on property developments.
No industry or business can safely operate under the impositions imposed by Trump.
How on earth can any business plan for years or even decades ahead and invest $Billions in manufacturing when the President may simply change his mind in 6 months, die in office or be voted out in 4 years.
Especially a president who has been a total business failure in every single business he has opened.

I have looked at Brian Cox movies, I have only seen Zodiac, Starship Troopers which was shit and Manhunter. Voight has done some my favourites like Deliverance, All American Boy, The Champ. Midnight Cowboy and, of course, Odessa Files. |
