Then, before then, and now. All Yanks wars are Bankers, Military, Media wars. Not least Ukraine making billions for the U.S. Banks, Military, Media industrial complex.
Quote media monster Hearst in 1898 to his man in Havana reporting on the suspect explosion (likely by drunken U.S. sailors not a Spanish attack) which sank the USS Maine, "You furnish the pictures, and I'll furnish the War." And subsequent headline which sparked the Spanish-American war, "Remember The Maine, to Hell with Spain!"

Post-Cuban crisis resolved (U.S. unpublicized) by Khrushchev getting JFK to remove U.S. Jupiter missiles from Italy and Turkey aimed at Moscow, Kennedy and Khrushchev were privately talking 'peaceful co-existence no more Cold War'. So JFK had to go,'No Profit in Peace'.
Vice President Johnson knew all this and as President from late '64 he escalated the War after North Vietnamese small-arms boats apparently attacked the USS Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin. Another attack was reported to have taken place, but there was doubt as to whether a real attack had occurred. However in Washington the attack was presented to the compliant whore media as a fact which gave the U.S. the excuse it needed to escalate the war, despite a few draft-dodgers fleeing to Canada and Mexico. The 'American War' rightly named by the Vietnamese was eventually lost by failed Agent Orange chemical warrior NixonNazi in 1975.

The Gulf Of Tonkin incident is the main reason the Vietnam War started. Instead of owning up to the fact that the U.S fucked up, blame Vietnam instead. The war started before Nixon came into office but he wanted to continue the war. Remember, the Aussies were in Nam for a short while.
The Vietcong were clever in their plans and strategies. Many young soldiers were thrown in the deep end and had no clue about jungles or even about life. Even though the Yanks who won the battle for Hamburger Hill, they lost the war, which gave the Yanks a bloody nose. |

I remember the Kent State murders well as I was at the time anti-Vietnam War and attended many protests.
Nixon was vile although his crimes in office pale when compared to Trump's madness. |
