There was an incredible scene in Ken Loach's I Daniel Blake when after dealing with Blake at the dole office, the clerk is seen lining up at a Food Bank.
Sounds like propaganda to me, it's like when nurses said they use food banks on QT. No one can just use a food bank, you need to be referred to a food bank. |

Apart from pensioner shoplifters there are some disturbing videos on YT of quite nasty shoplifters attacking store workers. Unacceptable but it's what happens when there is poverty. |

It's a dire and awful situation that Food Banks have now become an established situation.

Yes if you were starving it's almost a moral thing to do- shoplift. Supermarkets make enormous profits.The UK pension seems dismally low in comparison to EU pensions and US unemployment benefits are certainly higher than the UK.
I remember the 1960s when activist Abby Hoffman in the USA penned a book about all this right back then and on the front cover the title was Steal This Book. |
